When you first look at the cover of Fantomacs’ latest album, you get the immediate sense that nothing is left to chance. His music, in essence, is mirrored inside out in the artistically crafted cover for his new release, *Infinite Reflections*. The image originates from Bordeaux, capturing a breathtaking evening scene at the Miroir d’eau, a water mirror directly across from the grand Place de la Bourse.
This water mirror brings the sky down to earth, reflecting it in an almost magical way. In a single, enchanted moment, sky and earth unite as one, just as Fantomacs' music weaves an atmosphere that’s both mystical and grounded, irresistibly drawing the listener in. The cover has a similar captivating allure—everything connects into a harmonious whole, evoking a sense of floating lightness paired with deep grounding, emphasized by dark silhouettes of people whose feet seem planted firmly on the ground—or perhaps not, as they may be floating, a fascinating ambiguity for the viewer.
As you visually step back from this wonderful composition, the figures on the cover appear to merge, forming a wave of music that binds together lightness and earthiness, brightness and darkness, creating a perfect balance both visibly and audibly when you immerse yourself in the album. Even Fantomacs' signature is thoughtfully integrated, with an interplay of elements that feels remarkably balanced.
